Stage A#


Week 01 - Part A#

We will meet for the first session in Auditorium 32 in building 306. Following the lecture we will meet outside to form the teams and visit the buildings so dress warm :)

Questions#

  • Which type of consultant do you want to be in this project?

  • What is the identity of your subject group (company)?

  • How does your subject contribute to the team?

  • List one thing you need the most from each subject?

  • What is special about your group and what can you offer the team?

  • Which Team KPIs do you most align with?

  • Is everyone in your group on the same page?

  • PM: What values do you want your team to have?

  • Aspirations: How ambitious are you?

Activity#

  • Team formation

  • Find subject In this first activity you will be asked to make a ‘guesstimate’ of the GFA for your building.

  • What GFA are you aiming at for your building? This requires that you define the F2F height.

  • Will you have a greater ceiling height on the ground floor?

  • Will you have different types of floors for different parts of the building?

By the end of the session#

  • Enroll on DTU Learn in your team subject and consultant groups.

  • Sign your team contract.

Having decided what building you will model in the previous session. This week following a brief introduction to working in interdisciplinary teams you will analyse and build a physical model of the existing building.

Analyse the Existing Building from your disciplinary perspective#

  • Analyse the BIM and drawing for the existing buildings.

  • What is the carrying capacity of the exisiting structure?

  • What are the existing building systems?

Model Existing Building#

  • Physical model the existing building

  • Remember that it will need to be editable for next week.

Discipline Specific Tasks#

  • ARCH & MEP: Network Analysis of the exsisting building

  • STR & GEO: Forensice Analysis of the existing building

  • MAT : Investigative Analysis on the existing materials and state of the building

  • PM : Process Management of other disciplines and familiraizing with the course content ( both GitHub and Learn)

Analyse the Previous ABD Projects#

  • Analyse the BIM and drawing for the existing buildings.

  • How many desks could fit on a floor?

  • What systems did they use

  • Could the existing structure take more floors?

Week 04 - Physical Model & Part A Presentation#

  • A pencil / pen to sketch and help you communicate and explore ideas with your team.

  • Scissors / scalpel etc. to cut card will help you model the existing buildings.

  • A ruler will help you model it to scale and measure it so you can analyse it.

Presentation of models

Model the Proposed Building#

  • Adapt existing building model to you proposal

  • Calculate the improvement you have made in the new model

Team meeting & Benchmark Building#

  • PMs add information to the Teams.xls file in our MS Teams group

  • Decide on who will build the model today and who will anlayse

  • How should the communicate throughout the day.

  • Upload KPIs and Beats to excel as part of the bencmark building

Presentation of Model#

  • Present your models in the Foyer of 127

  • Feedback on your models from the chief consultants

  • Present best model and early integration awards

  • Submit the report and BIM for Part A on DTU Learn.

  • Pin up drawings in your allocted spot before 13 in the order described in the assignment.
